PERSONALIZED DESIGNS
UNIQUE PRODUCTS
The way it works is very simple. It’s a collaboration between your child and myself. From the drawings sent to me, I use digital illustration techniques and add my personal touch to create an original and unique design. This design can then be used to print a duvet cover or wallpaper, for example.
I strive to preserve the original essence of the children’s drawings and always keep as many details as possible. Only when necessary do I take small liberties, such as closing unclosed contour lines to facilitate coloring, or slightly modifying the eyes of characters to harmonize a motif. But in the vast majority of cases, I hardly change anything in the illustrations, and I think that eyes on chins are really funny!
If you like what I create, hooray! I can’t wait to work with you and your child on a new project!
INSTRUCTIONS
To facilitate our collaboration, here's what I need to create the pattern of your dreams, once you've purchased the design service:
The drawings
NUMBER OF DRAWINGS
1 to 5 drawings ideally. If you have a piece of paper filled with 28 drawings, no problem, you can tell me which ones you really want in the pattern, or I can make a selection with my professional eye. 😉 I’m flexible on the number of drawings, of course, but simplicity is often the key to great pattern design.
DRAWING TYPES
Ideally one or more drawings with outlines (see examples below). Alternatively, I could draw an outline myself, but that would involve more interpretation on my part. Drawings can be done in pencil, felt-tip pen, lead pencil or even crayon. Drawings should be as closed as possible. For example, no long, open waves, ocean or horizon lines, but rather drawings such as characters, animals, creatures, vehicles, flowers, trees, objects, etc.
It works, but there will be some hair interpretation!
FORMAT
You can send me drawings in JPEG, PNG, HEIC or PDF format. They can come from a single sheet of paper or several, from a piece of napkin or even from a beautiful drawing on the living room wall! 😉
SEND BY E-MAIL
Once you have purchased the service, you must send me the drawings by email to the following address: elisabeth@elisabethbenoit.com. You will receive a confirmation message reminding you of the information you need to provide.
You will need to put in the subject line of the email: Your purchase confirmation #.
You'll also need to tell me which product(s) you would like to buy: duvet cover, wallpaper, pillowcase, print as well as the color palette of your choice.
THE COLOR PALETTE
I suggest the color palettes below. You can choose any of these options. If you have another color palette in mind for your pattern, no problem, just send me a photo including the desired colors so I can extract them. Or for greater precision, send me the hexadecimal codes, RGB, Pantone or CMYK codes. You’ll need to specify which color you’d like for the background. I usually use 4 to 8 colors per design

DELIVERY + PRODUCT AVAILABILITY + CUSTOMS CHARGES
All products and services offered on my website are available in Canada and the United States.
As of May 2, 2025, a customs exemption known as "de minimis" still applies to products valued under $800 USD that are entirely manufactured in Canada.
Good news: all my products are made in Canada, which means they can continue to be shipped to the U.S. without any customs fees. If regulations were to change and customs duties were applied, these fees would be the responsibility of the buyer.
FOR INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS
If you live outside of Canada or the United States, you can place an order through my Spoonflower shop, which offers:
international delivery
products such as duvet covers, wallpaper, fabric, home decor and more.
⚠️ Please note that higher shipping fees and customs duties may apply depending on your country, and these are the responsibility of the customer. It is the buyer’s responsibility to check with their local authorities before placing an order.
DO YOU HAVE A LOCAL SUPPLIER?
If you’d like to have your design printed by a local provider, I can also supply the file in high-resolution digital format, ready for print.
Timetable
CREATION TIME
I require one week's lead time to complete the design and send you an email with 2 color options for your final selection.
Once I've received your selection, I'll put the selected product(s) up for sale on my online boutique, and the direct link will be emailed to you. The products will appear on a secure purchase page for which I will provide you with a password. If you have chosen wallpaper, the product will be on sale for 30 days (or longer if you wish), as it is impossible for me to create a secure page on Spoonflower.
PRINTING AND DELIVERY TIMES
For the printing of comforter covers, pillowcases and prints, I work with a Montreal-based printer, and the products are sold directly on my website. When you order, my supplier prints and sews the products and ships them directly to you. Production times for printing and sewing covers average between 10 and 12 working days. To which must be added approximately one week for delivery. The service is available in Canada and the United States. I recommend planning ahead, as the full process can take up to a month.
For wallpaper printing, I use the services of Spoonflower, a company based in the United States. Production times are indicated on the wallpaper purchase page when you place your order. Delivery times vary according to your location and the time of year. If you’re in Canada, my experience with delivery is that it can take a very long time (over 2 weeks) with regular service. So it’s important to plan ahead and not be on a tight schedule. Faster shipping options are offered on the website at checkout. It might be worth it.
Please note that it may take a few extra days for packages to clear customs. We are not responsible for delays caused by customs clearance or any problems with the delivery service.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN YOUR
There are always color variations due to the printing process, as well as color calibration differences on our screens. It’s important to understand that the colors of an on-screen design are generally different from those of a printed design. That said, each creation is carefully reviewed by my printer to ensure a harmonious result that stays true to the spirit of the original design.
